Tsum Valley Trek

You are invited to try the remote Tsum Valley Trek and discover for yourself what this hidden valley possesses. Get the rare view of Manaslu Mountain that boasts in being the eighth highest mountain of the world. Follow the ancient salt trading route that was used by locals to exchange goods with neighboring Tibetans, walk along the bank of gushing Budhi Gandaki River, tread through the forest of blooming rhododendrons, pine and oak that provides shelter to Himalayan wqildlife including snow leopard, visit time forgotten monasteries and walk along Milarepa Cave where the Great Tibetan Sage – Milarepa practiced meditation and attained liberation.
     
Enclosed by Boudha and Himal Chuli mountains in the west, Ganesh Mountain in the south and Sringi Mountain in the north, Tsum Valley or Beyul Kyimolung is the hidden valley that was cut off from external world and thus it was able to retain its original culture. Tsum Valley Trekking is still the controlled Area trekking and trekking in Tsum Valley requires special permission from Nepal Government.  Buddhist Saint Padmasambhava chose Tsum Valley for providing refugee to Tibetans who flee from their home due to war and religious persecution. Visit ancient nunneries, stroll along local houses and tea houses, observe wall paintings in ancient monasteries and explore Piren Phu cave.  

Emerging Nepal regularly organizes 19days Tsum Valley Trek package. 7hours of scenic drive will take us to Arughat Bazaar from Kathmandu. Tsum Valley Trek commences at Arughat Bazaar. The trail proceeds through small settlements of Soti Khola and Machha Khola to reach the open space of Doban. Crossing the remote Philim village, we will reach Chumling. After visiting Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa monasteries, we will return to Arughat Bazaar and drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1350m)
Once you land at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will find the representative from Emerging Nepal waiting for you at Tribhuvan International Airport. After completing your visa formalities, you will meet our staff who will pick you up from airport and take you to the luxury hotel where you will get refreshed and stay overnight.

Day 02: Trip briefing and introduction with members
You will be explained about your tour package and the activities that you will perform by engaging in Tsum Valley Trek. It is also the day for formally meeting with your crew members and build a familiar environment for easy and fun filled trekking.    

Day 03: Drive to Arughat by Local or private bus (600m) 7-8hrs drive
Leaving Kathmandu early in the morning, we will take the pleasant ride to Dhading Besi which is the district head quarter of Dhading. We will take meal at Dhadingbesi and then leave the main trail. Driving continues for about 3hrs through the gravel road to Arughat Bazaar.

Day 04: Trek to Soti Khola (870m) 6-7hrs
Trekking commences from Arughat. We will take an easy trail that continues for about 6-7hrs to arrive at the Soti Khola village where we will stay overnight.

Day 05: Trek to Maccha Khola (2340m) 6-7hrs
We will take the descending trail before taking the steep climb through ridge to Almara. We will proceed through the pine woods to Riden Gaon. Taking brief rest at Riden Gaon, we will head to Lambesi and then drop down to Budhi Gandaki River. Finally, we will reach Machha Khola where we will stay overnight.

Day 06: Trek to Jagat (1660m) 4-5hrs
Trek on sixth day begins by crossing Machha River. We will head to Khorlabesi. Enjoying the natural vista from scenic Khorlabesi village, we will move to natural hot spring called Tatopani. We will proceed through the forested ridge to Dovan. We can have a look at Budhi Gandaki River from Dovan village. From Dovan, we will continue our journey to Jagat.

Day 07: Trek to Chisopani (2386m) 6-7 hrs
It is going to be a long and tiring day of trekking. We will follow the steep trail through the forested ridges and pass through forest of oak and pine to Chisopani which exists at   2386m altitude. We will reach Chisopani from Jagat in about 6-7hrs.

Day 08: Trek to Chumling (3010m) 4-5 hrs
Trekking continues through the hill to reach Ganesh Himal Base Camp. We will enjoy the mountain views from the base campo and head to Lokpa village. We will pass through the small settlement of Lokpa and reach Gumlung village from where the journey continues through stone path to Chumling. Chumling is located at the southern face of Shringi Himal.   

Day 09: Trek to Chokhangparo (3361m) 5-6 hrs
We will cross Serpu Khola and take uphill climb to Gho village. We will proceed through the meadow to Chhokangparo which offers the view of Ganesh Himal Range to the south and Buddha and Himal Chuli Peaks to the southwest. Chhokangparo constitutes of Chhokang and Paro villages where Tibetan Buddhism is the chief religion.

Day 10: Trek to Nile (3700m) 3 hrs
The trail continues through forest of blooming rhododendron. We will proceed to Nile village which is the last northern village in Upper Tsum Valley. The scenic Nile Village exists at the western edge of Shiar Khola. Shiar Khola is located near to Chhule village.

Day 11: Sightseeing in Mu Gompa
Leaving Nile, we will take the short trek to Mu Gompa which is the Tibetan monastery that is believed to be founded in 1895 AD. Mu Gompa is the largest monastery in the Tsum region. Mu Gompa is also the highest and farthest point of Tsum Valley.  

Day 12: Trek to Burgi Village (3245m) via Milarepa Cave (5hrs)
We will reach Piren Phu Cave early in the morning. Piren Phu is also known as the pigeon cave. Piren Phu Cave exists near to Burgi village. Piren Phu Cave was named as Milarepa Cave when this cave was used by the Buddhist Spiritual Master Milareppa for his meditation techniques.

Day 13: Trek to Chumling (2386)5-6hrs
Trekking from Burgi village to Chumling follows mostly the downhill trail through forest of rhododendron, pine and oak. We will lower down to Gho village and trek further to Chumling Village where we will stay overnight. 

Day 14: Trek to Philim (1570m) 6-7hrs
We will walk through Lokpa village and reach the plain land that offers view of Samba falls. The trail continues to Philim where we will stay overnight.

Day 15: Trek to Khorlabesi (970m) 6-7hrs
We will pass through Jagat to Tatopani where we will enjoy the bath in natural hotspring. We will lower down to Sirdibas and continue the trek to Khorlabesi where we will stay overnight.

Day 16: Trek to Soti Khola (700m) 6-7hours
From Tatopani, we will pursue the trail that passes through small villages. We will walk through the crop fields and lower down to Soti Khola where we will stay overnight in the edge of Soti Khola.

Day 17: Trek to Arughat Drive to Kathmandu (600m) Walk 4hours and drive 7-8hours
Crossing the bridge, we will head through the crop fields to arrive at Arughat Bazaar from where we will take 7-8 hrs of drive to Kathmandu.

Day 18: Leisure in Kathmandu
This is a free day. You can spend the day according to your wish. Shopping in Thamel is the favorite pass time.

Day 19: Departure to international airport
It is the day of departure. After assisting in your last moment preparation, you will be taken to Tribhuvan International Airport. We hope we will see you soon. Goodbye!!
