Tilicho Lake Trekking is a popular trekking destination in the Annapuran region of Nepal as the trekking takes the trekkers to the famous Tlilicho Lake of Nepal.  Tilicho Lake is a wonderful and beautiful lake in the Annapurna region of Nepal situated at an altitude of 5000 meters of altitude. The trekking with the Emerging Nepal is a 18 days long trekking package which takes the trekkers to Tilicho Lake- which happens to be one of the highest lakes in the world. The Great Barrier is the highest point of Tilicho Peak. Besides the natural beauty of the Tilicho Lake, located in the Annapurna Region in Manang District of Western Nepal, it also provides the splendid views of the mountains like the Annapurna, Mount Machhapuchhre and Mount Dhaulagiri, among others. The beautiful image of various mountains reflected in the clear water of Tilicho Lake is one of the wonders of the trekking.

The route of Tilicho Lake Trekking follows the popular Annapurna Circuit trail until Manang Valley from where the trail parts its way to Khangsar Village. During the course of the trekking, the trekkers will also come across the holy shrine of Muktinath where they can pay homage to the Hindu deity before flying back to Pokhara from Jomsom Airport. Tilicho Lake Trekking is also a wonderful spot for the bird watchers as they can come across and observe danphe, brown dipper, and white- breasted kingfisher, among other birds.
Tilicho Lake Trekking starts with a drive from the Capital City of Kathmandu to Synage, along the Prithvi Highway, enjoying the scenic drive along the way. Later on, you will pass through the forests of rhododendron and orchid flowers before finally turning up at Tilicho Lake. It is categorized as an arduous and difficult trekking as the trekkers will have to accomplish narrow and stony trail. Besides the adventure and natural beauty on offer, the visitors will also have the opportunity to spot and see the wild animals like the Himalayan Thar, snow leopard, barking deer, among others, making the trip a memorable one.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our team representatives and then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu 
On the second day of the itinerary package, you will embark on the sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. After having breakfast at the Hotel in the morning, you will start the sightseeing tour with the visit to the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. The ancient art and architecture which are at display in the museums and the monuments will charm the tourists. Similarly, the tourists can also visit the holy Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple and also the Bouddhanath Stupa which are important destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. You will return back to the Hotel in the evening.

Day 03: Drive to Syange / Jagat
On the third day of the itinerary, you will take a drive from the Capital City of Kathmandu to Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung district. The drive will take around six hours and you will enjoy the scenic drive along the banks of Trishuli River. After reaching Besisahar, you will again take another short drive to Bhulbhule taking only 2 hours in a local jeep. From Bhulbhule, you will take a ride in a local jeep to reach Syange and finally to Jagat. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapani
After having breakfast in the morning, you will resume your walk on the fourth day through the jungle. First you will leave the trail that goes to Chamje and move along the banks of Marshyangdi River and then enter the Manang district and follow the trail through the barley, rice, potato fields and pine forests to reach the village of Kodo. After which, you will reach Dharapani- one of the popular villages in Manang district.

Day 05: Trek to Chame
The next day, you will take a gradual ascend and walk further up from Dharapani to Chame which is located at an altitude of 2,700 meters of elevation. Chame is a wonderful village with all the facilities like health post, hotels and guesthouses. In Chame, the trekkers will come across Oak and maple trees and forests along with the major Himalayans. Stay overnight at guesthouse.

Day 06: Trek to Pisang
From Chame, we will walk further up to the village of Pisang (3,200m) after having breakfast in the morning at the guesthouse. For the trek to Pisang we need to go behind the trail throughout vertical and narrow river valley with deep forest on the way. The trekkers will forget the tiredness of the trekking once they reach Pisang as they will be blessed with the mountain views. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 07: Trek to Manang
On this day you will be trekking to Manang from Pisang. Manang is a wonderful valley which is quite popular amongst the ones who come for Annapurna trekking. For the trek to Manang (3,540m), there consist two trekking trails. Both the routes can be followed. Later there is Jharsang Khola which should be crossed. There is a village of Gurung known as Khangsar where we can find a small monastery and prayer flags. Continue overnight at camp in Khangsar. Stay overnight in a tented camp.

Day 08: Acclimatization day in Manang
The next day on Manang will be spent for acclimatization to the higher altitude as it is very important for the trekkers to get used to the rising altitude and the changing conditions. During the day, you can visit monastery in Manang and take a side trip to Gangapurna Lake. Though the day is meant for acclimatization, you can travel around Manang and enjoy the beauty of the valley. Stay overnight in a tented camp.

Day 09: Trek to Khangsar village
You will set on a journey to Khangsar village from Manang on the ninth day of the itinerary, passing down along the Chorten and turn northwest to arrive to the river. After crossing the suspension bridge over Jharsang Khola, the trekkers will pass through forests of blue pine and wheat fields to reach Khangsar village. Khangsar is a Gurung village where there are lots of small monasteries, Chorten, Mani walls and prayer flags. Overnight stay at a camp in Khangsar.

Day 10: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp Lodge
From Khangsar, the trail climbs steeply upwards as the trekkers will walk past the chortens and Gompas, enjoying the trail which passes through the forests of juniper and buckthorn. While on the way to Tilicho Base Camp Lodge, you will cross many small streams before climbing steeply to reach Tilicho Base Camp Lodge from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of Tilicho Peak and adjoining vicinity.   

Day 11: Trek to Tilicho Lake and back to Base Camp Lodge
Day eleven is one of the most important days of the trekking, as on this day, the trekkers will begin their hike early in the morning and head towards Tilicho Lake which is 3-4 hours of walk away far from the Lodge. The beautiful Lake provides an excellent vista of Gangapurna, Tarkegyang, Khangsar and also the Upper Manang and Pisang valley. After spending some time at the lake, enjoying the natural beauty of the surrounding, you will return back to Base Camp Lodge.

Day 12: Trek to Yak Kharka
The return journey begins on day 12 when you will begin your down climbing from the Base Camp and walk through the ruins of the ancient Khangsar. You will continue your walk along the trail and move down to the river before crossing it through a suspension bridge between Gumsang and Yak Kharka. A short walk after crossing the trail leads you to the village of Yak Kharka.

Day 13: Trek to Thorong Phedi
On the 13th day, you will then move ahead to the Thorong Phedi from Yak Kharka. You can choose several routes to reach Phedi and after around three hours of continuous walking, you will finally reach Thorong Phedi located at an altitude of 4450 meters. The elevation of Phedi is the maximum one you will get during the course of the trekking. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 14: Trek to Muktinath
On this day, the trekkers will cross Thorong Phedi and head towards the popular Hindu shrine of Muktinath which is located at an altitude of 3,800 meters. Muktinath is a sacred place for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Thousands of Hindu pilgrims visit the holy temple and worship the goddess every year. The walking can be difficult on the day, but you will enjoy the adventure and also the natural beauty of the region. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 15: Trek to Jomsom via Kagbeni
After spending a day at Muktinath temple, you will then descend down to the popular place of Jomsom on the next day. You will down climb for around five hours and finally reach Jomsom which is quite famous amongst the travelers in Annapurna region. In between, you will come across the village of Kagbeni before reaching the town of Jomsom. Jomsom has very good facilities of hotels and guesthouses. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.

Day 16: Flight to Pokahra
The next day, you will take a morning flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. In about 25 mins of time from the Jomsom Airport, you will reach Pokhara. The rest of the time in Pokhara, you can enjoy sightseeing around the beautiful city and enjoy its natural beauty. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 17:  Drive or Fly to Kathmandu
On this day, you will have breakfast in the morning at the Hotel and then either drive back to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway or take a flight from Pokhara to the Capital city of Kathmandu. If you go by drive, it will take around six hours while if you opt for a flight then you will reach there in 30 minutes. After reaching the Capital, you will be transferred to the Hotel.

Day 18: Departure from Kathmandu
On the final day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will catch a flight back to your home country.
