Nar Phu Valley Trek located in the popular Annapurna region of Nepal is one of the exciting trekking itineraries in the Himalayan country. Nar Phu Valley used to be restricted area until recently and the foreigners were not allowed to trek in the region as it came under the Restricted Area Trekking. It was first explored in 1950s by Tilman but the region remained closed for trekkers until 2002. Hence, it is only recently that Nar Phu Valley Trek was opened to all kinds of trekkers and ever since then it has served as a perfect combination of cultural tour and natural sightseeing for the visitors. The trail of Nar Phu Valley Trek passes through the Annapurna massifs and other several mountains in the region as you can have amazing views of the snow-covered mountains.
During the course of the trekking, the trekkers will be accompanied by the several settlement areas of the local people and the villages, giving the trekkers with the great opportunity to observe the ancient culture, traditions of the people living in the region. Nar Phu Valley Trek follows the trail of Annapurna Circuit taking the trekkers to the secluded region of Nar Phu Valley. Tibetan culture is dominant in the region of Nar Phu while Yak herding and farming are the chief occupations of the people living in the region.
Views of Mount Annapurna, Gangapurna, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Tilicho Peak among other several snow-clad peaks, walking along the Marshyangdi River, walking past High Passes of Thorong La and visiting the holy Muktinath Temple are the major highlights of Nar Phu Valley Trekking. Nar Phu Valley with the Emerging Nepal is a 22-day adventurous trekking which begins with six hours of drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the district headquarters of Lamjung, also the starting point of the trekking. You will then begin your walking during which you will come across places like Jagat, Dharapani, Chame before arriving at the Nar Phu Valley. Villages like Dharmasala, Chaku, Phu Village, Nar Village are other places which u reach before making it to Manang, Letdar, Thorong High Camp and also the holy shrine of Muktinath.

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our team representatives and then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 02: Trek preparation and sightseeing in Kathmandu:
On the second day of the itinerary package, you will embark on the sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. After having breakfast at the Hotel in the morning, you will start the sightseeing tour with the visit to the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. The ancient art and architecture which are at display in the museums and the monuments will charm the tourists. Similarly, the tourists can also visit the holy Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple and also the Bouddhanath Stupa which are important destinations for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. You will return back to the Hotel in the evening.
Day03: Drive to Besisahar (820m) 6hrs:
On the third day of the itinerary, you will have breakfast in the morning at the Hotel and then drive from Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway to Dumre. From Dumre, you will leave the Highway and proceed through another road that leads you to Besi Sahar along the banks of Marsyangdi River. Besisahar is the district headquarters of Lamjung and also the starting point of the Nar Phu Valley Trek. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 04: Trek to Jagat (1290m) 7hrs:
Your trekking starts on the fourth day when you will start your walk from Besisahar to Jagat. First, you will reach the village of Bahundanda after which you lower down through paddy fields and cross the river before ascending to Village of Hani Gaon. The trekkers will pass through Marshyangdi Valley and to Syange before taking some ups and downs to finally arrive at Jagat.
Day 05: Trek to Dharapani (1920m) 7hrs:
The next day, you will follow the downward trail from Jagat and pass through forests before taking the steep climb. The trekkers will enjoy the view of Chyamje before crossing the river over a suspension bridge. Later, you will make it to Sattale and lower down to Tal. You will come across Karte Village before arriving at Dharapani.
Day 06: Trek to Chame (2630m) 8hrs:
The trek on the sixth day begins with the view of Dudh Khola River. Following on the easy trail, you will arrive at Bagarchhap village. After that, you will pass through Dhanakyu and move along Marshyangdi River. En route, you can also enjoy the view of Mount Manaslu. Passing through rhododendron forest, we will pass through village of Kotho and arrive at Chame which is the headquarters of Manang district.
Day 07: Trek to Nar phu Valley first camp (2740m) 7hrs:
On the seventh day, you will leave Chame early in the morning and pass through woods and take the raised path where the trekkers will enjoy the view of Annapourna Mountain. We will leave Annapurna Circuit and cross Marshyangdi River to arrive at Nar phu Valley first camp. Overnight stay at a tented camp.
Day 08: Trek to Dharmasala (3230m) 7hrs:
Moving along the trail through forests, you will have a gentle ascent to Choto and proceed further along the route just above Nar Phu Khola. We will cross the suspension bridge and choose the raised path to arrive at two- storey Sinhenge Dharmasala where we will stay overnight.
Day 09: Trek to Upper Chaku Village (3270m) 7hrs:
Crossing the Methang River, we will choose the escalating trail to meadow at Methang. We will enjoy views of chortens and Kang Guru before passing through Methang Village to Junan Village. Short trek from Junan will take us to Upper Chaku via Lower Chaku Village.
Day 10: Trek to Phu Village (3980m) 6hrs:
Difficult ascent from Upper Chaku will take us to Kyan Village. We will pass through Mani wall and choose the downward trail to river bed. Passing through chortens, we will take the raised path to Phu Valley. Crossing Phu River, we will climb to Phu Village.
Day 11: Rest Day at Phu Village:
This is taken as the rest day. Rest is necessary to acclimatize so that we will not be the victim of High Altitude Sickness. We will utilize this opportunity to explore around the Phu Villaghe and know their culture, traditions and ways of living.
Day 12: Trek to Nar (3550m) 6hrs:
Returning back to the valley, we will walk past Chaku Village and arrive at Phu River. Crossing the river, we will move through Nar Phedi and climb up to reach Nar which offers wonderful campsite as the land is rather grassy in nature.
Day 13: Trek to Kang-La Phedi (4530m) 7hrs:
About 2hours of climb will take us to Nar Village. The trail once again moves upward through moraines of Temdenzon River to arrive at the foothill of Kang La Pass. We will stay overnight at a camp at Kang La Phedi.
Day 14: Trek to Munje (3330m) 6hrs:
Following the difficult trail, we will make it to the summit of Kang La Pass. We will enjoy the views of chorten and Annapurna Mountains before taking the steep descent to Ngawal. The trail then passes through forest to take us to Munje where we will stay overnight.
Day 15: Trek to Manang (3540m) 1-2 hrs:
The trail on 16th day proceeds through fields. Enroute, we will enjoy the view of BRAGA Village along with its Monastery. We will walk past chortens and Mani walls and enjoy the views of Tilicho, Gangapurna, Annapurna II, Annapurna III and other peaks before climbing to Manang.
Day 16: Trek to Ledar (4250m) 5hrs:
Crossing the river, we will take the raised path to Tengi. We will then cross Marshyangdi Valley and head northwest. We will enjoy views of some of the Annapurna Mountain Range before arriving to Gunsang Village. We will then pass through meadow and forest to Letdar.
Day 17: Trek to Thorong Phedi (4620m) 5hrs:
The trek on 18th day begins with gentle ascent to the top of ridge. The trail then lowers down to river which we will cross over the wooden bridge. We will then follow the escalating narrow trail to Thorong High Camp where we will stay overnight.
Day 18: Trek to Muktinath (3816m) 8hrs:
It will be the difficult trekking. We will climb through the steep trail and reach summit at about 4hours where we will be greeted with views of chortens and prayer flags. We will enjoy views of some mountain peaks and Kali Gandaki Valley before lowering down through Jhong Khola Valley to Muktinath.
Day 19: Trek to Jomsom (2713m) 5hrs:
After visiting the holiest shrine at Muktinath Temple, we will follow the easy trail down to Kali Gandaki Valley. We will later pass through villages of Jharkot and Khingar and continue our journey through the way which offers scenic views of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri Mountains before arriving at Jomsom.
Day 20: Flight to Kathmandu via Pokhara (or one day stay in Pokhara)
An early morning pleasant yet short flight will take us to Pokhara. From Pokhara, we will take the connecting flight back to Kathmandu. You will be served a farewell dinner there at the Hotel night in the presence of our entire team. If you are lucky, you will also be able to get the glimpse of Nepali cultural dance. However, if you wish to return back to the Capital on the next day, you can spend a day in Pokhara itself.
Day 21: Departure from Kathmandu
On the last day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will catch a flight back to your country.
