Khayar Lake Trek - Emerging Nepal

Khayar Lake Trek

Khayar Lake Trek is a recently opened trekking trail in the Annapurna region of Nepal which effectively links the Jomsom Trekking trail and Classic Annapurna Base Camp trek. Khayar Lake Trek mixed up the traditions of Gurung and Magar ethnicity while also provides outstanding mountain views of Himalayas including Annapurna, Nilgiri, and Mt. Dhaulagiri. Apart from the scenic variety of the peaks, you will be fascinated with the warmth and generosity of the Gurung people along the Khayar Trek.

Khayar Trek starts off from Tadapani which is a village nearby from the wonderful and beautiful city of Pokhara. You can reach Pokhara either by flight or through a drive along the Prithvi Highway from the Capital City of Kathmandu. During the course of the trekking, the trekkers can view excellent natural sceneries including the forests filled with Rhododendron and Pine. Normally, the trekkers set out for this trek with packed foods that will last for minimum of three days. For those people and travelers who are looking for a break from the major track to the lesser followed route, Khayar Trek is a great option as it is the perfect place to spend some days free from any kind of disturbances and distractions.

In reality, many people do not know much about this newly-opened trekking route. The best part and the major highlight of the Khayar Trek is the sunshine view which can be seen from Ghorepani or Poon Hill. Hence, Khayar Trek is one of the most beautiful and attractive treks in Nepal that gives the experience of mixed cultures and outstanding views of different Mountains. The trekking trail crosses the rivers and unusual valleys. Another thing for the popularity of Khayar Trek is you can find different temples for Hindu people and attractive monasteries for Buddhist people. Khayar Lake located at an altitude of 4,500 meters is the major highlight of the trekking. The best season for Khayar Lake is the months of March-May and September-December. The trekking grade is moderate while the mode of trekking is fully camping.
