Gurung Village-Siklish Trek - Emerging Nepal

Gurung Village-Siklish Trek

Siklish Trek is a short trekking itinerary in the Annapurna region of Nepal as it takes the trekkers to the popular Village of Siklish in the western part of the country. It is a well known fact that Nepal is a land of cultural and ethnic diversity where many people from different ethnicities live with utmost harmony and understanding. Siklish Trek provides more such opportunities for the visiting tourists to discover and find out more about our culture and our tradition. People from Gurung community make the largest ethnic community in Siklish and hence the tourists will observe and enjoy the indigenous cultures of Gurung community.  The trekking also provides the chance to view the mountainous landscapes of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, among other mountains.

Siklish is a traditional Gurung village with great values and hence during the course of time it has emerged as a major trekking destination for both domestic and visiting tourists. The houses designed in traditional and old fashioned style is another interesting aspect of the trekking. Besides the natural sightseeing, tourists also get to experience their tradition, dances and folk songs, and other cultural aspects during the trekking.

Shiklish Trek is alternately also known as Royal Trek and it is an ideal trek for the amateur trekkers who do not have much experience of trekking. It is a mild trekking and it does not require much physical fitness. It is also favourable for older people and children as the highest altitude during the trek is just around 2300 meters. The Siklish Trek begins with a wonderful drive to Pokhara from the Capital City of Kathmandu. The best time for the trekking is during September and November and also during March and May.
