Bardia Jungle Safari - Emerging Nepal

Bardia Jungle Safari

Stretching over 968sq km of an area, Bardia National Park which is also written as Bardiya National Park is the largest National Park in Terai of Nepal. Announced as Bardia National Park in the year 1988, the area covers Babai River Valley and the boundary stretches to eastern edge of Karnali River. It is secured by Churia Hills in the North while Geruwa River demarks it in the west. Nepalgunj Surkhet Highway makes the southern boundary of the park. Sal woods are found in abundance in the park where several rare species of floras and faunas can be found.

Here are over 30 species of mammals like langur, civets, hyenas, rhesus monkeys, wild dogs, sloth bears, blue bulls, deer, wild boars, otters, bear, one horned rhinoceros, wild elephant and deer. Gharial, Marsh Mugger crocodiles and Gangetic dolphins take shelter in the river. Land from Churia hills to the slopes of Bhabar is covered by flowers. Bardia also provides home for more than 250 species of birds including threatened Bengal florican, Sarus crane, herons and kingfishers which make it ideal for Bird Watching Tour.
